Diner en Blanc & The Booth come to Philly!

What started as a small, impromptu gathering in Paris 25 years ago has turned into a worldwide phenomenon. How does Diner en Blanc work? "At the last minute, the location is given to thousands of friends and acquaintances who have been patiently waiting to learn the “Dîner en Blanc's” secret place. Thousand of people, dressed all in white, and conducting themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance, and etiquette, all meet for a mass “chic picnic” in a public space." This past weekend, Diner en Blanc came to Philadelphia, and so did The Booth!

As smartphone cameras improve, so do the number of people replacing them with their old, bulky digital cameras. Now you don't have to sacrifice too much thanks to photo websites like Photojojo! The Photojojo store is packed with awesome gear to get the best shot out of your smartphone. Tack on a fisheye, wide/macro or telephoto lens to your smartphone for a unique shot. Set up a smartphone tripod with a cable release for a selfie like no other. Attach a spotlight lens through a headphone jack to get that model feel to your photo. Couples of Canterbury in the Photo Booth

We know it's hard to snap a quality photo with your sweetheart, so let The Booth help! We were at Wright's Mill Farm in Canterbury, Connecticut for a wedding this past weekend where couples were encouraged to jump in The Booth and give the camera their best impromptu poses. Here are some of the best moments from the night caught on camera.

Projection mapping - this is way too cool

Projection mapping, sometimes also called 3D video mapping, may seem like a fairly new creation but it's actually been around since the early 70s. Projection mapping was first seen at Disneyland's Haunted Mansion ride as it was used to create realistic ghostly figures that would sing, talk and interact with guests on the ride. At this time it was actually called Spatial Augmented Reality and the name projection mapping didn't come into play until this decade. In the past 30 years since its invention, projection mapping has gone from simple talking heads on a Disneyland ride to massive, multi-million dollar displays for major companies like Chevrolet, Hugo Boss, Sports Illustrated, Gillette and Target. Check out this video from Klip Collective from 2012 as Gillette celebrated the US Olympic team with three nights of displays around Boston.

A straight to social video booth

On Tuesday, The Booth was in New York City at Plannertech, a technology conference and showcase for event planners presented by Liz King Events. We wanted to capture the event in a video booth, but in a different way this time... In spirit of the technology centered event, we decided to create a straight to social video booth that was shared directly to the event Facebook page using a video sharing app. We asked attendees to talk about their companies, themselves and what brings them to Plannertech. Some even shared what they are experts in, what they like to do outside of work and some deep, dark confessions.

The Photo Booth at Chrissy Tiegen & Chef Roble's Crabtacular!

Back in November, The Booth came to Chrissy Tiegen's birthday party at Studio 450 in Manhattan. Chef Roble, better known for his hit television series, Chef Roble & Co. on Bravo, held a Crabtacular in her honor filled with an array of seafood. Among the guests was Questlove and of course her boyfriend John Legend who sang a beautiful happy birthday song to her during the evening. Guests enjoyed an endless seafood buffet, a cake and whipped cream fight but mostly capturing the night in the photo booth! The Photo Booth backdrop gets a wedding makeover

Congratulations to Ashley and Ray who got married this past weekend at the Stone Mill at New York Botanical Garden! We loved the idea they had to drape a crochet banner across the plain white seamless giving it a whole new look!

The Photo Booth at Chelsea Piers Lighthouse NYC

Over the weekend, The Booth came to the Chelsea Piers Lighthouse in New York City to celebrate the wedding of Andie and Mike! Guests loved the wide variety of stick props to choose from and didn't waste a minute in the booth!

The Photo Booth comes to Baltimore to get Scottish!

This past weekend, The Booth came to The Belvedere in Baltimore, Maryland to celebrate the wedding of John and Rowena. Traditional Scottish kilts were worn in honor of the beautiful bride from Scotland and also made for a perfect photo booth moment!

One Medical Group cools down in The Photo Booth

What better way to cool down during this heat wave than with a frozen yogurt social! This week, One Medical Group invited The Booth to their social with Deutsch to celebrate cool, refreshing and hassle-free health care.

Getting creative with props in The Photo Booth

This past weekend The Booth joined Andrea and Kerry as they celebrated their wedding reception at the Bourne Mansion on Long Island. We loved how the couple and their guests fearlessly grabbed props and jumped right into The Booth getting as creative as possible!

The Booth and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses

The Booth was recently selected for the NYC  Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.  It was exciting, hard, demanding and rewarding and we were so grateful for everything we learned in the 14-week practical business training program. We were honored to make this video with them.  Thanks to Cohort 8, advisors and staff for an amazing experience.

When it rains, we rain confetti in the Photo Booth:

Summer showers are getting us down, so we found a few oldies but goodies to lighten the day. Although it might be humid and raining outside, in The Booth it's raining confetti! Grab an umbrella and get ready for a different kind of summer shower.

The Photo Booth at the WFAN/ ReadyScrip Sports Health Expo:

The first ever WFAN/ Ready Scrip Sports Health Expo included autograph signings and sports clinics by a long list of sports greats including: Bernie Williams, Goose Gossage, Doc Gooden, Mickey Rivers, Mookie Wilson, Walt Clyde Frazier, Antrel Rolle, Wesley Walker, David Carr, Sid Fernandez, Kerry Kittles,  Sean Landeta, and Tiki Barber (pictured below in The Booth).

Believe it or not, this year is the 50th anniversary of Sassoon's 5 point bob, and, to celebrate Vidal Sassoon salons have been offering specials and givewaways to clients across the country. We participated in the #showyourgenius competition in NYC at the 57th St Store, photographing clients after they received their sharp new cuts. Check out these modern (and now classic) looks:

The 37th running of the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Central Park included 15,000 entrants from 361 companies! Fitness enthusiasts demonstrated comradery and good spirits throughout the event but especially in the our photo booth!! Thanks for the many participants for giving both the race and the camera their best.
