Keeping it natural in The Booth

No room for a backdrop? No problem! Sometimes natural scenery serves as a better backdrop than anything we could add to a seamless. If you're planning a party this autumn, why not use the beautiful, natural fall foliage as a backdrop? Check out how one wedding incorporated the lower Manhattan skyline as their backdrop on a party aboard the Honorable William Wall ship over the summer. Even the setting sun contributed to their backdrop, changing the scenery every minute making each picture unique.

Over the weekend, The Booth was in New Jersey for the wedding of Megan and John. We took a ton of beautiful photos but some of our favorites from the night were actually candids! Here are a few candids we loved:

VMA viewing party brings performances to The Booth!

Although the MTV Video Music Awards happened over a week ago, everyone is still talking about the performances from the night. Forget Miley's performance- at La Cenita restaurant in New York City, everyone couldn't stop talking about The Booth at their VMA viewing party! Guests were busy all night creating their own performances in The Booth- check out a few favorites below:

This weekend, The Booth was on Long Island for the wedding of Kristen and Chris. Choice prop of the night? Confetti of course! Check out a few of our favorite confetti tosses from the night as well as an animated GIF of the lovely couple!

Back to School - The Booth Way

College freshmen orientation was always an awkward time; until now. Instead of the usual name games and team building exercises, New York University School of Law decided to spice things up a bit with The Booth! After a little coaxing, the new students quickly went from shy to shameless grabbing props and new friends to snap a memory they'll have forever. Check out a few of our favorites from the morning.

Diner en Blanc & The Booth come to Philly!

What started as a small, impromptu gathering in Paris 25 years ago has turned into a worldwide phenomenon. How does Diner en Blanc work? "At the last minute, the location is given to thousands of friends and acquaintances who have been patiently waiting to learn the “Dîner en Blanc's” secret place. Thousand of people, dressed all in white, and conducting themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance, and etiquette, all meet for a mass “chic picnic” in a public space." This past weekend, Diner en Blanc came to Philadelphia, and so did The Booth!

As smartphone cameras improve, so do the number of people replacing them with their old, bulky digital cameras. Now you don't have to sacrifice too much thanks to photo websites like Photojojo! Couples of Canterbury in the Photo Booth

We know it's hard to snap a quality photo with your sweetheart, so let The Booth help! We were at Wright's Mill Farm in Canterbury, Connecticut for a wedding this past weekend where couples were encouraged to jump in The Booth and give the camera their best impromptu poses. Here are some of the best moments from the night caught on camera.

Projection mapping - this is way too cool

Projection mapping, sometimes also called 3D video mapping, may seem like a fairly new creation but it's actually been around since the early 70s. Projection mapping was first seen at Disneyland's Haunted Mansion ride as it was used to create realistic ghostly figures that would sing, talk and interact with guests on the ride. At this time it was actually called Spatial Augmented Reality and the name projection mapping didn't come into play until this decade. In the past 30 years since its invention, projection mapping has gone from simple talking heads on a Disneyland ride to massive, multi-million dollar displays for major companies like Chevrolet, Hugo Boss, Sports Illustrated, Gillette and Target. Check out this video from Klip Collective from 2012 as Gillette celebrated the US Olympic team with three nights of displays around Boston.
