More Choices Equals More Creative Flow!

It has been a kick-ass Summer! A couple of weeks ago we collaborated with OZY for their annual Fusion Fest. The event tagline was “Think. Eat. Rock. Laugh. Engage.” Five words that sparked with our creative team. Ah-ha! A green screen booth with options for attendees and each category!

Attendees stepped into our on-site pop up studio and were presented with 5 different background and overlay options. Their selections would instantly appear on the live-view screen.

Does the purple background look better than yellow? Try it out! Attendees selected their colorful choice for the perfect picture. Our technician team assisted with Social Media sharing of each photo and a 4x6 print worthy of framing. Pretty cool, right?

Introducing The Booth's New GIF Strip

We are pleased to announce one of our new services for 2016. The GIF Strip!

Our team developed custom software in order to instantly create the GIF Strip. Guests are then able share on-site through our Social Media Station.

4 Cameras X 4 Image Files + Awesome Exclusive Booth Software = Epic GIF Strip in seconds!

Philippe Halsman inspires The Booth

Philippe Halsman was an American Portrait photographer. He was known for his images that were sharp rather than in soft focus and closely cropped.

We were inspired by what Halsman called Jumpology. He commented, "When you ask a person to jump, their attention is mostly directed toward the act of jumping and the mask falls so that the real person appears.”

We couldn't agree more!

Absolutely Brilliant.

The entire Booth team has a background in professional photography. We had the honor of working with One Medical Group and their amazing team. Originally, our gear was packed with a seamless backdrop but once the silver freight elevator caught the eyes of our team, there was a change of plans. Our team was able to make the adjustments needed and create a custom look using the surroundings, pretty cool right? OM_ 25837 OM_ 25844

An Impressive Camera For A 9 Year Mission.

NASA’s New Horizons probe finally reached Pluto and its dwarf moon, Charon. After traveling 9 years and 3.6 billion miles, New Horizons took hundreds of images on Tuesday morning. With three cameras on board, the most impressive is "Ralph." A camera equipped with a 75mm lens at f/8.7, capable of capturing visible light and some infrared light. As New Horizons traveled away from the sun, temperatures drop causing materials to shrink. Lisa Hardaway, an engineer at Ball Aerospace in Colorado knew "Ralph" would have to be built almost entirely of one type of material.

“We actually built the mirrors and the chassis out of aluminum so that as they shrink, they would shrink together, to maintain the same focal length. We could do a reasonable test on Earth and still expect the same quality image,” Hardaway says.

Even the camera’s mirrors were made out of aluminum. To turn dull aluminum into mirrors, Ball sharpened it with diamonds. The lens was one of the few pieces of the camera that could be safely made out of glass.

A huge mission. An impressive camera. One set of historic photographs.

The Earliest Color Photographs Were Taken Over 100 Years Ago.

Mervyn O'Gorman was an accomplished English electrical and aircraft engineer. His interest in photography led him to become a pioneer of color photography. In 1913, O'Gorman composed the photographs below, today they are featured in many exhibitions around the world. Using the Autochrome Lumière process, he skillfully captured his daughter, Christina in a series of color photographs. The shallow depth of field was created by long exposures and a large aperture, a style many photographers appreciate. Our team enjoys taking on photographer inspired projects, O'Gorman may be our next one! The Booth Goes Billboard Big in LA at The Grammys!

It is really hard to beat a Grammys afterparty because nothing is more fun for a photo booth than a room full of entertainers. Cheers to an amazing night on the Rooftop of the London Hotel and to the endlessly awesome crowd at the Billboard Afterparty!
